What our customer's say!
"Very nice except the piping", The quality of this product is great for the price. I was hoping it would be an item that my kids might have for several years or more. The main problem is the piping tears easily and once it starts tearing, the kids pull it out. I am going to try to replace the piping, but not sure if I will be able to find the right material.
Also, the lid opens to about 115 degrees or so and I wish it would either open all the way or detach.
My complaints are mainly if you are considering purchasing the product for a child 4 or under, otherwise I have no problem recommending this product.
"quality instrument; not too heavy", The is a very nice musical instrument, just as the other reviews have stated. I got one for my five-year old niece, who lives in another state. I was a little worried that it might be heavy and therefore expensive to send. But the "Angel" Glockenspiel is pretty light, so it will be a cinch to ship out, and for her to carry it with her. It's also pretty sturdy, has an easy to open and there are no loose parts (except for the mallets, of course).
Yes, there are two full octaves, starting with "G" ("Sol"), and I was surprised to find all the sharps and flats, too!
There's also some little stickers with the "do", "re", "mi"-s on them. No music book. I think that by eight years old a child could read some simple music and play tunes. Most should be able to play some easy tunes by imitation and maybe by ear even earlier. I doodled around and played a couple of tunes. The notes ring nice and clear--my husband said that it sounds good, but is rather loud (I was striking the bars firmly with the mallets). If the loudness is a problem for you when your child plays it, try having him or her hold the mallet balls in the hand and play with the ends of the sticks--this produces a soft sound--or try using some other, softer striker. The "food end" of sturdy chopsticks works well, too.
I am a strong believer in music for children--the earlier the better--and I am very happy to find an instrument like this that is pleasing and easy to use. I think that my niece is going to love it!
"Nice set", I just received this, and have started getting acquainted with it. The sound is nice, the action is nice, and the case is attractive. I was thinking about ordering a xylophone when I came across this. It gives me much more opportunity to be musical! I like the mallets, too.
"Real nice", I bought this for my one year old instead of a cheapy xylophone that can't be used once she gets older and I love it. The sticks are one piece so no threat of the ball falling off and her choking on it. She bangs the heck out of this thing and it stands up fairly well (She did smash a little bit of its foam deadener, but it still works, hope it won't affect it later). Nice sound and Mom has more fun playing it then the baby I think. Love the fact that it is a "toy" now and will be able to be used for real music when she gets old enough to read music. I do dislike that the cover won't lay down flat, so it looks just like the picture when opened, I do set my music there, but wish I had the option to lay it down flat or take it off.
"Great deal!", This is a great value. It's incredibly difficult to find a glockenspiel with the sharps and flats that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Unlike a previous reviewer claims, the notes were not off key. Nor did I have to bend the mallets to remove them from the case. The sound quality is good. For those who are picky about the tones, they can spend more than a mere $15 on a higher quality instrument. This is for my children, ages 2 and 4, the older of whom is on the autism spectrum. Affordable and good quality and unique instruments are a great find for use as music therapy. Since this has all of the notes, we can accompany them using the piano. The vendor shipped immediately and I am completely satisfied.

"Rock the Glockenspiel!", This Glockenspiel is by far the greatest! I recommend this product for all the non-musical players and the musical players. My children love it and I do too.
"LMI 25 Note Bell Set", Perfect for the beginner or 2nd or 3rd year drum student. Travels easy, good for home practice. Perfect for my 10yr. old drum student.
"Great fun - Nice sound", Although it is true that I am not a learned musician, I still love music and I love to "play" around on different instruments. I am not an expert on any of them, but can play a couple of songs on each fairly well. This bell set is wonderful!! Beautifully made and self contained in a plastic case. I bought it for myself (it takes up less room than a keyboard or piano) - but have also let my nieces try it. It has stood up to the durability test and we all love it! :-)
"Great Buy!", We love our LMI 25 NOTE BELL SET (xylophone / glockenspiel)!
It was inexpensive. I looked at similarly priced but inferior products in local stores before I decied to try mail order.
It comes from an Amazon partner, but arrived very promptly and very well packaged. One reviewer expressed concern about how the mallets were packed. I had a brief moment of concern, but the mallets are flexible and slide out. We sometimes store them as the instrument arrived, with the mallets tucked under the bars.
It has been sturdy enough to stand up to two months of a toddler playing with it steadily, and still looks and sounds great. The notes are clear and pretty. The instrument is well tuned enough that an adult can play simple tunes and enjoy them.
If you have been looking, as I was, for a simple but in-tune XYLOPHONE for your child, then the LMI 25 NOTE BELL SET is a great buy!
"This is a 5-Star Review", The LMI Glockenspiel (Bells set) is made in Korea, and is a real bargain. The glockenspiel is two octaves chromatic, from G-G. The steel bars are silver-plated for a shiny, reflective appearance.
I'm a pro percussionist and pro percussion teacher. I bought an LMI Glockenspiel for a trial, and then bought 6 more. The price was so low ($15) for a set of bells with a hard plastic case, that I wanted more. I gave them as drawing prizes at a student percussion contest.
The glock is very portable, and is light weight, considering that it has steel bars. Most bells sets in the $150-$500 range have aluminum bars. Aluminum bars are OK for a bells set, but steel gives a greater projection, and steel bars "cut through" an entire orchestra.
This is a table-top bells set. You open it up, the top of the case becomes a music stand, and the bells set has feet to set it above the table, for better projection.
A pair of flexible shaft bell mallets, made of hard plastic, are included with the set, and they store easily inside the case.
This is an excellent sounding set of bells, at a very low price. I recommend it for new bells students on a tight budget. I use the LMI Glock when traveling, for practice, and also for teaching in a small room, at a music instrument retail store. I only wish it had 2.5 octaves range.
John Broecker.
