"very good playing recorder", I purchased this soprano recorder several years ago along with a few of their whistles.I have never owned a high end recorder;but do own a few of the better plastic models [aulos;yamaha].I have been playing recorders for several years and would like to do some recording in the future.I have had very little problem with clogging and I have played for hours.I find it very easy to articulate high notes without squeaking;and with a moderate amount of breath control easy to play in tune.I can't imagine someone having these problems unless they got a faulty instrument.It has a very robust sound through the whole range.

"somewhat disappointing", I bought this recorder thinking that for the extra money I would get a somewhat better instrument than my $10 plastic Yamaha recorder. My husband and I are also big fans of medieval and rennaissance music. This Susato recorder is also made of plastic, and arrived, somewhat scuffed, in a plastic case with a fingering chart and some cork grease. The bore and holes are indeed larger, but contrary to the item description, the lower notes are no louder than those on the Yamaha. After about 15 minutes playing time, the moisture buildup in the instrument causes the low notes give out altogether. The higher register squeaks dreadfully and requires quite a bit of hard blowing and finesse to get it to behave. On the plus side, it does have that reedy medieval sound
