"The Latest for now . . .", Wonderful Experience with this latest version of OSX. It is truly amazing that some mac software demand this version of the Mac OSX or they will not run !!! The latest games - Call of duty 4 - some video software - Handbrake - etc. The Mac market has exploded as of late and this version of the operating system is the key to all the benefits-because without software the hardware however chic is useless. But by itself there is much to explore and Mail is much improved and time machine is the needed push to backup which is essential with all the valuable pictures, music, etc. that we now put on our Mac's. Worth the price of admission now that developers have all jumped on the growing Mac bandwagon. Enjoy the stability with your old standby's and access to the latest software at the same time - no need for new printers or drivers unlike Vista !!

"OS 10 Rocks", Mac OS X with Bootcamp made it easy to add Windows XP to my MacBook so that I could run the programs compatible with my wife's insulin pump and real time glucose meter.

"Leopard is wonderful", Initially I was hesitant to try a new operating system on my mac, but Leopard turned out to be utterly magnificent. Very little compatibility problems with existing software and it is just as fast if not faster than tiger. A great product.

"Leopard is all I expected", I got the Leopard upgrade so I could handle the newest video format output from my Canon HF11 videocam. The computer sees my camera and FinalCut works great. Very happy.

"No problem upgrading older Mac.", I waited to upgrade until the bugs were worked out. Installed on a MMD G4 and it works great, although I would recommend maxing your RAM on older machines.

"upgrading", buying Leopard was easy. saved a little money too, so that's always nice. upgrading to Leopard... why does it have to take up so much memory!!!! it's not that different enough from my old OS, but takes up so many Gigs! i was on 10.2 before the upgrade. oh well, it's done now.

"Finder windows problems", My work requires me to set up folders that hold hundreds and sometimes thousands of archived files. Therefore, I always use the simple list mode to scroll up and down in a narrow Finder window and open folders in the same window and without the need to having a sidebar, I never used the sidebar before anyway. something which worked great with Tiger.
When I upgraded to Leopard I couldn't have the simple list Finder window anymore. I found that in order to do that, I need to get a rid of the sidebar by clicking on the oval top right button on the Finder window which also get a rid of the top menu which includes the "back" and "forward" arrow buttons that are essential to going back and forth between folders. Although the arrow buttons can be substituted by activating the Path Bar at the bottom of the window by checking "Show Path Bar" in the "View" pulldown menu in top of the screen, which I don't find as fast and easy to use as the arrow buttons. I also shockingly found out that when I get a rid of the sidebar (and the top menu), folders always open in a new window no matter what, even if the "Always open folders in a new window" left unchecked in the "Finder" pull down menu in the top left corner of the screen.
So now I'm stuck with having to have the useless sidebar that takes much room on my little 15.4 screen of my MacBook Pro in every window I open in order just to make folders open in the same window.
The other thing is that Leopard does not memorize the Finder's window settings and location, I must go through resetting my windows to my specifications every time.
This may sounds like a simple issue but it is a very important one because most of us use the same window settings from start to end, we rarely change to different settings or location.
Apple, I hope you issue correction to this important problem soon.

"Causes repeated system crashes for G series "Power-PC" processors.", This OS is nice and well enough designed for Intel processor machines, but for "Power-PC" processor Macs, it's a disaster. I have one of the last of the G5 iMacs (20") and it never crashed at all with Mac OS 10.4. But with 10.5, IT WILL CRASH EVERY TIME I use iTunes. Sometimes it crashes when I'm using iTunes, and sometimes it will crash after I use that program and quit the application. It doesn't seem to matter what I do. And yes, this is a legal, registered version of the OS. I have reinstalled it twice with no effect. Apple has some serious work to do to make this latest OS viable for their not-too-distant machines. Until they figure it out, users should avoid this OS.
