What our customer's say!

"Best game ever", Game was great only bad parts are the sound and how short the single player is

"A big improvement from Halo 2!", I purchased this game around Thanksgiving with an open mind. As an avid PC FPS player, the original Halo and Halo 2 dissapointed me, mainly the single player aspect. Halo 3 on the other hand managed to really surprise me. The single player is great! Varied level design, lots of different vehicles, and a good story help break up what used to be a boring trek through levels that all looked the same. The multiplayer aspect is of course, the best. One thing I love is that Bungie supports this game very well and they update the multiplayer play lists every week. Thanks to updates like these, this game will be sitting in your 360 for months and maybe even years!

The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the graphics are a bit disappointing, especially when compared to Call of Duty 4/5. Also the amount of loading in multiplayer compared to the Call of Duty series is long. It really breaks up some of the multiplayer experience when you are waiting and waiting for another game. That being said, these are just minor grievances and the game will most certainly satisfy you.

"Gave it as a gift", I gave this as a gift. It was a great price. $20 below anything else I could find.

"Call of Duty vs. Halo", I have them both.
I bought my 360 earlier this year so i never had a predetermined bias of either.
I originally bought Halo 3. The campaign is fun, i enjoy the usage of vehicals and how you can hijack and actually take them out (unlike the tanks in CoD 5). The online can keep you entertained for hours. Yeah the match set up is slow and they need maps, but you can buy them in marketplace.
Call of Duty 4 is also a great game. Its much more realistic. Falling can kill you and the guns actually do damage. However, its a video game, so if being realistic is whats important go for Call of Duty.
Lets not forget Halo 3 is meant to be a Sci-Fi action shooter. All 3 have great online multiplayer, so it really depends what kind of a mood you're in for gaming. Realistic Hardcore Military, or Sci-Fi Action. I will keep switching for how I feel. No one ever said you have to put all of your eggs in one basket. Neither is worse. They're just different.

"Halo Does it again!", WOW! A few months was worth the wait!Even though im kind of getting bored of it because it is my only game for my 360. Ive played Halo and Halo 2. Pros and Cons:
Cons:
-Forge Money Buget, i dont like that, beacuse we should have unlimited things and infinate money(Without Glitching).
-Multiplayer Energy sword, since they put a limited charge, it will change online gameplay with it.
Pros:
Good storyline, great graphics, more optioins when creating your own Custom Game.

"overhyped...multiplayer saved it for me", I played halo 1 AFTER I played halo 3, and I liked halo 1 much better. It has a more serious tone. In halo 3, the enemies you are fighting sound silly as they talk. I felt almost embarassed as it sounded like I was watching a childish saturday morning cartoon. Halo 1 doesn't have this, and the music is much, much better in halo 1, it gave me goosebumps.

The graphics aren't even much of a improvement either. Games like COD 4 make this look stale.

The only reason why I still play this is because it's splitscreen online multiplayer. That means a friend of yours can play with you as you battle online with other people. I wish more games supported this.

"Not so great single-player", For a single-player game, I greatly preferred Grand Theft Auto 4 and Fallout 3. I wonder about people who claim to have played Halo 3 the first time through in 6 hours. It may be possible for someone who has already mastered Halo 1 and 2, but for the rest of us, it is possible to spend an hour or two just trying to get through one scene where you are almost out of ammo with no more laying around and tons of baddies rushing you, or where no amount of hits on an enemy seem to phase it/them and it takes a dozen or more attempts to figure out how to overcome it/them, especially those that require you to hit a particular part of an enemy or to attack it in a certain way.

The worst feature of Halo 3 is the way it saves (or doesn't save). When you die, it reverts back to just before you died, so you might think that it has saved that point, but if you save-quit and restart, it goes back to an earlier point, making you refight the same tough battles. So if you are half way through a difficult mission, pause the game and leave it on if you must quit; otherwise, be prepared to redo the same fights you have just struggled through.

And unlike other games, if you just turn off the Xbox, it does not auto-save, so you end up going back several scenes which you already spent a lot of time (and some luck) beating. Nor does it allow you to save the exact point you are at. Again, it just reverts back to the start of the scene/mission. So don't just turn off the Xbox without saving first.

Frankly, the first time through the game was so hard that I couldn't enjoy it. I'm playing for fun, not to have to work so hard nor to take a dozen tries to make it through a scene. It wasn't as bad the second time through because of understanding how things work, but it was no 6-hour walk in the park, either.

Another complaint about Halo 3 is the lack of sound control. Other games allow you to control the volume for music, sound effects, and speech separately, but not H3, so if you want to be able to hear the spoken instructions and hints, you have to put up with even louder weapons fire, explosions, etc., which others in the house may not appreciate. And turning on captions doesn't help that much because not all speech shows up in captions (even with All selectedc), plus a really stupid "feature" is that H3 does not save your captions setting, so you have to manually turn it on every time you turn on the game.

Halo 3 is better than Mass Effect, which spends too much time on talking/reading, and Left4Dead, which is too repetitive, but not as much fun as GTA4, in my opinion.

"Halo 3-Best Multiplayer shooter for Xbox 360 (By Far)", Halo 3 is my favorite game for the 360. It's pretty much the only game I play (and I have QUITE a few others). Do you want to know why? It's because of Halo 3's multi-player, which can be summed up in one word: fantastic. Bungie has created the perfect match-making system, and it works almost flawlessly. The single-player campaign is also a lot of fun, plus, this game racks up TONS of achievement points.

"For Kids Only", The Halo series is a fun group of games if you are 13 or younger. I played the first one and quit after about a third of the way through it. The enemies just look stupid, and it is all very childish in that way. I got Halo 3 because I wanted to give it another shot. While it looks really nice and polished, it still just doesn't do it for me. The multiplayer has so many different game types that you spend half of your time in the lobby. The positives are that the storyline is interesting, and it allows two players for everything. Being able to play online with a friend sitting next to you is a nice feature. I can't believe more games don't have that ability. If you are a member of some thing where you can rent games and not incur late fees, then I recommend just renting this game for a while. Otherwise wait and buy a used version. If you're a teenager or younger, buy this game.

"Tour de Force Multiplayer, and Not Much Else", If you are a fan of Halo, then you probally know about the multiplayer. It is the corner stone of the Halo games. Long after people blew up the first Halo, they were still shooting each other in Blood Gulch.

In that respect, Halo 3 does not disappoint. I cannot praise its Multiplayer enough. Of course it has its flaws, but it is so incredibly fun that you rarely notice them. Sword duels were a stroke of genius. I play a close range game, i've spent full minutes locking blades with one guy until he (or me) made a mistake and died. Great, intricate level designs, ranging from the multi-level ambush frenzy of Blackout, the vast sniper-paradise of Last Resort, and the intimacy of Isolation, every level is well made and fits different game types.

The weapons are equally fun to use. You have your regular assortment of sniper rifles, assualt rifles, laser beams, and a few new things such as the maulers: one handed shot-guns, duel wieldable; and the gravity hammer, a rival for the energy sword in terms of close quarter dominance.

There are very minor problems. You can customize your character with different armors, unlocked by meeting achievements. There are vastly more armors for the Spartans than Elites (i think its a ratio of like 10:1) but it seems there are more Spartan players than Elite players, and what we Elites have are freakin awesome, so that's not a huge problem. Other problems include the balancing of weapons: you can no longer duel wield Needlers, but duel Maulers can rip a person apart at close range with one shots each.

The biggest problems aren't with the multiplayer, the problems are with the story, which has consistently been bad. It is incredibly typical sci-fi stuff, which wouldn't be a huge problem if people didn't constantly say its such an incredible story. Humans are apparently the descendants of aliens (Forerunners). Who the hell is writing this? L. Ron Hubbard? You don't have an interesting villian, at all. The Covenant have never been made interesting. I applaud Halo 2 for allowing you to play as the Arbiter and opening an interesting story. Now that the Elites are on your side, so you go back to an unsympathetic, underdeveloped Covenant.

The Phrophet of Truth is little more than a Bond Villian, laughing sinisterly through out the game. You don't have an interesting Brute like Tartarus. You don't get to kill Truth, he dies in a cut scene. For the rest of the game, you fight Gravemind. But mind you, you don't have an epic showdown with a gigantic swarming mass of Flood. You fight a silver ball who shoots laser beams at you. I'm not kidding.

Half-Life 2 took the Earth in ruins thing and did it incredible well. You saw first hand the destruction that the invaders had caused and the brave humans who resisted. Playing through this, you never get the sense that Earth is really in peril. We may get more of a glimpse at a ravage Earth in Halo: Recon coming out Fall 09, but why should we have to shell out sixty more dollars for the rest of the story? Not to mention the length, playing through normal I beat it in about six hours. Heroic is a bit harder, but it just a matter of ten hours. Beating it on Legendary, you get a little easter egg which is not worth the time taken.

If you like Multiplayer, this game is second to none. I've spent hours online fighting or at my friends house playing teams. Its fast paced mayhem or slow and steady sniping. Every map is different, however slightly. But until Halo starts investing in its storyline and campaign, i will not give them the coveted 5 star ranking.
