"Beginning harper", I am completely new to the world of harping, so I can't comment too much on the quality of the product, other than it seems well put together and has what I think is a nice tone. I am, however, very frustrated that it only has 12 strings. I knew this when I purchased it, but did not realize until I sat down to practice that it is impossible to play anything on this harp with both hands because it only has 12 strings, covering only 1 1/2 octaves, while everything in my beginner and technique books cover at least two octaves. I am terribly disapointed by this and wanted to warn anyone else who may be in my position, thinking getting this harp is a good idea because of the price, but really, if you're going to invest the money and are actually serious about learning the instrument I'd suggest something with a more expansive range. The limited practicality of this instrument is what earned it only three stars.
