What our customer's say!
"Loving it", I'm 24, learning to play the piano. I wanted a keyboard that had touch-sensitive keys (louder when you hit them harder)... that was my main requirement.
After looking at a few keyboards and messing around with a few demos on display, I purchased this one. The price was less than most keyboards that have these features, and the quality of the keys is actually better than more expensive keyboards I looked at.
I can't comment on the recording/playback and lessons etc, but I can say that the sound quality is surprisingly good, the voices, styles and other interesting options are all top notch as far as I can tell.
If I had to make a complaint about the keyboard, it's only this: there is a very slight hiss from the speakers that's only audible when you're in a perfectly silent room and not playing anything... but it's VERY faint, even air coming from your central air vents is enough to hide the sound. And it's entirely possible that my keyboard had a manufacturing problem. It's not an issue though.
I'm very pleased with my purchase, and probably won't outgrow this keyboard anywhere in the near future. Also the keyboard looks nice, and has basic features that many people might want like headphone output, midi output, foot pedal input, etc.
"Nice Keyboard for my daughter", This seems to be a great keyboard for my 6yr old daughter. She has just started Piano lessons and is really into them. This Yamaha was at a great price point and is one that i am told she will be able to use for several years to come. Typical Yamaha quality and build - solid and well made. I bought this over a few other similar models as it came with the power adapter and the "piano" mode so that when you strike a key soft or hard it is like a piano in that the sound producesd is more realistic and louder or softer...
"yamaha keyboard", Great starter keyboard for my 7 year-old. Her teacher was impressed with price and features. It's light weight and easy to move, yet sturdy with stand(this was extra but worth it). The adapter was well worth too. Great buy for the money.
"it's a good value", Although we paid more than the price for entry level keyboards this one seems to be the real deal. It is larger than we expected it to be and it has lots of synthesizer type capabilities. They're all pretty easy to access and the sound coming out of the two speakers is really pretty good.
So -- bottom line -- you're not going wrong with this one.
"Great product, but there's cheaper ones here...", This is a perfect keyboard, BUT the other amazon page titled "Yamaha ypt-310" (without AD) is more cheaper. I got mine for $120 AND i got an adapter AND stand

"great, lightweight, relatively cheap", I don't have a lot of experience using keyboards... I got this one because I used to play the piano more when I had easy access to one and I didn't want to lose all that I had learned. It's a great product for the price. I really like the touch sensitive keys and the multitude of various instrument sounds that you can use. I haven't used any other brands with similar features, but I would think that finding another model with the same features and quality for a better price would be pretty tough to do. If you're not in the mood to spend $400+ on a model that has weighted keys (they feel like real piano keys) then go ahead and get this one.
"excellent for a non-muscian to learn to play a piano", I have no musical talent, no experience on learning to play a musical instrument, and little time to take lessons. But I do have a love for listening to piano music, especially classical. However, I bought this keyboard because I found out that learning to play a musical instrument is an excellent exercise for a senior citizen's brain to remain active and to improve focus and memory in later years. My on-line research brought my to the Yamaha entry-level keyboards. I highly recommend paying a little more for the YPT310 instead of the 210 because the extra features are very important. Also, the "AD" model must be purchased because it runs on house current instead of batteries. Excellent for a non-musician to learn a little without having to learn to read music.
"Great value", While an electronic keyboard at this price level will never replace a real piano, this model is an excellent value with good sound quality. In the downsizing process I had to give away my Baldwin, and have sorely missed the joy of making music. This keyboard takes up little space, and has lots of fun extras (different voices, etc.) that I have just begun to explore. The "responsive touch" feature makes this model cost a little more, but it is a must! I tried using the keyboard on my dining room table, but the height was not correct and my wrists started to hurt. I have just ordered the Yamaha double-X stand, which I would recommend for any new purchaser. Also, be sure the keyboard you purchase comes with the adapter (most 310s do not).
"Excellent choice for us", The description says it all. We were very pleased with the sound quality and the many sounds (voices) and features. When we first turned it on it was not touch sensitive. After a few moments we found the touch sensitive button, and all worked as expected. It isn't very loud which suits us fine. We have a real upright piano that is twice as loud. I made the mistake of plugging the sustain pedal in while the keyboard was on. This caused the sustain pedal to work in reverse (sustain always on until you press the pedal). I consulted the manual and found that the sustain pedal needed to be plugged in BEFORE the keyboard was turned on. All in all we were very impressed with this product.
